As we prepare for 2011, please post your predicted closing values for the Dow and Gold on March 31, 2011, June 30, 2011, September 30, 2011, and December 31, 2011.

Here's the link to what we thought last year: http://www.buy-high-sell-higher.com/predictions/2010-predictions/

                              3/31          6/30          9/30          12/31

DOW                      $13,000      13,500     10,500      7,000 minus

Gold                        $1,500      1,700        1,850         2,000 plus

Silver                      $35              45           50             60 plus

Oil                           $100          110           120           140 plus (Middle East war, Iran, Syria against Israel
and terrorism in oil fields and Middle East terminals)

And all this is just getting started for the 2012 downer!

I predict a mammoth hole apparent in the U.S. economy by 6/30 and that will lead to drastic leaps down in the DOW.  The leaps may be quite further than below $7,000.

It is obvious that QE2 is not working for the FED and the Treasury.  Rates are rising and will continue to do so.  Interest on the national debt may double or more.

QE3 will drive the beginnings of hyperinflation.

Real estate, residential and commercial will continue to deteriorate in value.

Personal incomes will continue to drop.

Unemployment, govt statistic, will be 15% (don't know if you saw that they are changing how it is tallied) and real unemployment reach 25%.

Maybe my predictions are a little short?

http://kingworldnews.com/kingworldnews/KWN_DailyWeb/Entries/2010/12/15_John_Williams_-_Massive_Selling_of_US_Currency_Lies_Ahead.html

Quote
“The earlier all-time high of $850.00 of January 21, 1980 would be $2,391 per troy ounce, based on November 2010 CPI-U-adjusted dollars, and would be $7,840 per troy ounce in terms of SGS-Alternate-CPI-adjusted dollars.
In like manner, the all-time high price for silver in January 1980 of $49.45 per troy ounce has not been hit since, including in terms of inflation-adjusted dollars. Based on November 2010 CPI-U inflation, the 1980 silver price peak would be $139 per troy ounce and would be $456 per troy ounce in terms of SGS-Alternate-CPI-adjusted dollars.

Numbers 1,2,and 5 I get.  Not sure why he calls the other 7 black swans.

Interesting about farmland.  I will have to see if I can come up with a hard link on that.

I have bought farmland and looking to buy more.  Hoping to get about 25% trees with this next purchase as well.

I have read articles where we may be in for a BAD surprise with Nat gas.  Proven recoverable reserves does not mean that they are economical to get out of the ground.  EROEI is the key to those deposits making it out of the ground.

As I understand it, the mammoth nat gas fields in Louisiana and surrounding are drawing to a close because price is not high enough to make it economical.  This is a well kept secret.  I have also read where many nat gas investors have lost huge amounts of money as shares are diluted.

I think we are in for a bad surprise on Nat Gas.
