What were your best & worst trades of the year?

Best - bought UGTH $1.10. Currently at $2.95, still holding. Has been as high as $4.50.

Worst - bought some PNP at $10, it dropped to $4.60, bought more, now down 58%. Still holding.

Should have followed the 20% rule.

Worst Uranium Resources LSE: URA some buying some selling overall -24.4% keeping because it's a very small portion of portfolio and it's £0.0425, so it will only need a small increase to put it back into profit. Although Hochshild LSE:HOC is giving it a good run for its money (Definitely selling).

Best Randgold +100%   Bought  £11.00 Current £22.00 (sold 75% @ £18.78, and added to my holding of TSE:HGU which is up overall 37.5%).

In essence my uranium stocks are all losers to one degree or another.
My gold stocks are very nearly all winners (thank goodness that over 50% of my portfolio is gold).

For worst uranium trades....jeez, take your pick. I'd say JNN is looking pretty bad right now.
Best was selling pinetree  in april.

worst of the rest--I bought EGLE, the shipping outfit. It dipped, I bailed, and then it tacked  on about 50% in a couple of months (now it's down again).

best of the rest--Petrohawk, up about 50%.

Though as far as trades go, it seems that a lot of my smartest moves have been selling stuff as soon as the tides were turning--I had some real crap last year, but unloaded with minor damage or small profits. I had Citibank, Hovnanian, VRTX. I wish I had done the same with the uraniums, but I had an unreasonable attachment to some of them, and now I'm stuck.
