Bush has his final State of the Union address Monday night at 7:00.
It is believed he will speak not about the past but about the future.
He wants to outline his ideas about succession planning and such.
Obviously he will speak about the 'war on terrorism' and the tax cuts.
However, I am banking that he will speak about alternative energy again.
I am going to use some attack capital around 2:00 Monday to buy what should be depressed stocks, going into what I see to be a rally call.
If you want to follow me, I will be buying big on STG.v and P.to.
For those that like this methodology, but want higher prices, look into
BLD.to ATA.to XTX.to or if you are american GPRE BLDP HOKU GSCL IESV
and remember this website for all your alternative energy needs: http://www.renewableenergystocks.com/Companies/RenewableEnergy/Stock_List.asp

I wonder whether Bush has any juice left. I'm going to hold off on my bets until we see how the election candidates shape up. My take is Hillary would be bad for buisness, Obama would come out strong to prove himself, McCain will be very good for military industrial resources in the build up to the attack on Iran and Ditto for Romney. It will be interesting to see what come out of his yap this time.Bush's last speach did mention nuclear but failed to add any pizzazz. I hope you're right on your picks. let us know how you do. Good luck

That was easy.
I love taking 5000 shares on each company for 4 cents. I will pocket $360 any day of the week.
For all of you who want profits perhaps you should look back to BRD.v
Anywhere under .6 is a solid entry point which has been possible for 4 days now.
Sorry to gloat, but I was following up on the prediction.

Dr. G,

It seems you are buying around .55 and selling when it moves over .60 again.  I have been watching it since you mentioned it. Been sticking around .59 - .64 range mostly. But I guess a .07 cent rise with 5000 shares does make a nice profit. Don't you get hit on short term gains.

What do you mean short term gains?

As far as I'm concerned a profit is a profit.
And in today's volatile markets, I'll take any profit I can get.

How do you see this as a bad thing?
What is this hit you refer to?

For the record it has been .58 to .64's and .63's.
But the STG and P was the prediction dananini.
I took each for 4 cents, .29 to .33 and .51 to .55.
Didn't mention on this one but TMG.v falls into this category as well.
I mentioned it in a previous alt. energy posting.
TMG and STG just released earnings, a good article to see what the companies are all about. TMG looks exceptional at these prices.

Easy Dr. G,

I am not looking at it as a bad thing.  Profit is a Profit.  Just asking about the taxes on short term capital gains then long term capital gains. Also, just saying I have been watching the stock when you mentioned it and just saying where I saw the price range.  I have been watching it and thinking about purchasing some.

Croaker,
I really can't talk about taxes, I don't do my own.
I should, and will begin to; but I focus more on gains.
Is there a difference in Capital Gains depending on ownership time?
I am in Ontario in Canada for anyone who knows this answer.

I support your decision to pick up some BRD.
I also noticed PDN is being accumulated after their quarterly update today.
I think any wise uranium follower can see upside in this stock as well.
I think anything under 4.00 is money in the bank.

You don't have to pay short term gains taxes until tax time... so the hit can be put off... and extended... so if you can compound the gains it turns out not so bad.  It's the same taxes you pay on your salary anyway... so it's no different than a bonus at the end of the year if you think about it...

About Bush's speech though, I don't know... it's blabber... but I propose we come up with some new term for nuclear weapons that does not include the word "nuclear".  It still freaks people out.  We need a mental disconnect between the two before people will jump on the nuclear power bandwagon I think.

And not "WMD's", b/c we flubbed that one and can't use it anymore.

Anyone have any suggestions?  Maybe revert back to calling them "atomic bombs"... though that sounds very '40's...

I don't know.
