SS, I suppose you will check out the marina!   I miss my Carver, the best times I ever had were on that boat and hanging out at Marina Bar's.  Boat people have my kind of spirit and adventure.  Enjoy Your Trip!

We'll be there.  Grin
The resort is somewhere we've never been to before.
Two separate Portuguese people we've bumped into, and the husband of someone my wife worked with has played golf there and they all rate the place.
Looks good and sounds good. The proof of the pudding...

Take care.

Earlier this month, some economic luminaries in the United States Congress introduced a new bill, H.R. 2835.

http://www.sovereignman.com/expat/is-this-a-jobs-super-committee/

Quote
Great idea, fellas. After failing to ignore your way out of recession, spend your way out of recession, lie your way out of recession, and print your way out of recession, you now intend to legislate your way out of recession.

This bill exemplifies how completely clueless the leadership is, and highlights the common demeanor of the political class.  By definition, people are in government because they believe that government is the solution, not the problem.

They chose to sacrifice liberty.....

SS, et al, you definitely want to read this one!!

http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/286704/repo-men-kevin-d-williamson

Quote
If you’re making money on the Wall Street scale — which is nothing like your boring, middle-management in the Fortune 500, Hamptons-and-Mercedes, barely–a–1 percenter type money — then you can buy basically anything. When real-estate investor Robert Rosania put part of his storied champagne collection up for sale in 2008, the auction was predicted to fetch $5 million — couch-cushion change to Rosania, who had not yet reached his 40th birthday, making him a good deal younger than many of the vintages in his cellar. (Known in the wine world as Big Boy, he brandishes a special saber designed for decapitating head-clutchingly expensive bottles of champagne. Bespoke vintage-champagne cutlery: That’s how you know you’re rich.) Not far from Zuccotti Park, where Occupy Wall Street was fragrantly encamped, I noticed a young man wandering into a store to buy a pack of cigarettes on a bright Saturday morning, wearing blue jeans, a T-shirt, and a $237,000 Vacheron-Constantin watch. In a world of $600,000 cars (consult your local Maybach dealer) and $4,300-a-night whores (consult Eliot Spitzer), it’s no big deal to buy a president, which is precisely what Wall Street did in 2008 when, led by investment giant Goldman Sachs, it closed the deal on Barack Obama.

Hi MM
Corruption rules.

When is a democracy not a democracy?
When the voting system is corrupt....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=rVTXbARGXso

Isn't this the sort of thing that the “International Community” condemns in other countries?

Not that it seems to make any difference who ends up getting elected. I'm not picking on the US. It's a worldwide. I do think that the US should be leading by example though.

I listened to a program late last year.

I didn't post it because it wasn't possible for someone in your geographical location to listen to it.

My version even has a time limit on it (I searches for the CODEC everytime I open it) and will probably expire soon.

Pity. Because I thought it was worth watching.  Wink

Your post reminded me to look to see if anyone had copied it so that others can watch.

Sorry It's 101mins long.

Take note of the names of people who wouldn't appear on the program to answer the allegations.

It'll probably disappear. Best to copy and convert to a format you can watch and keep.

http://www.snapfiles.com/get/fmvideocon.html

E.g. Download it now so it can annoy you leisure.

I now see why MM couldn't get nominated when he informed us that he'd tried to stand for public office some time ago.  Angry

Another Gem SS.  So simply explained even a moron could understand it.  Alas, I forwarded it to a couple of my liberal acquaintance's and if it's possible to e-mail a thousand yard stare, that's the sort of replies I get.  Still say there is no hope for us, there's just too many of these types out there.  However it will be fun (and hopefully profitable) watching this all happen before our very eyes.

Thanks

Hi SW

Yes. I know many people like the (Liberal) ones you mention too (I grew up with many and I'm even related to some).

Government will never allow it to happen!!!! I hear them say.

So much misplaced faith in (Nanny State) government.***

I mention that they laughed when I told them about the impending banking crisis.
But didn't the government save us from certain calamity?

Government saved the many of the least deserving. Government created the environment for the “Global Economic Crisis” to happen, and many in government prospered at the expense of  people who elected them (*** watch the rather long video link I posted for a fuller explanation of this  http://fullepisode.info/storyville-inside-job/  ).

Dodos

Mistaking its lack of fear for a lack of intelligence, the sailors called the bird the "dodo" from the Portuguese "doudou," meaning "simpleton."

The fate of the Dodo was to be exploited to extinction.

May 2007 “Pershing Square” was warning it's own people of what was to come (some people raised concerns even earlier)....

I don't know if you're getting the same media coverage of the Republican candidate for US President?
You'd hardly know that Ron Paul was even standing. Maverick no hoper  is the message that  I'm getting here.

Too many vested interests to give Ron Paul any oxygen of publicity.
I hope that enough people will see through the charade to get Ron Paul through.

People in the US keep soaking up all the false first Friday of the month employment data...

The masses don't ever see the real numbers:

Hi MM
Here too.....
“Unemployment rate falls to 8.3%; fifth straight monthly decline”

http://www.sovereignman.com/expat/fraud-alert-us-department-of-labor-now-reduced-to-soviet-propaganda-ministry/

Quote
Needless to say, few outlets with any meaningful reach covered the real story behind the employment figures– the Labor Department simply took 1.2 million Americans out of the labor force. In other words, the unemployment rate fell because the Labor Department deliberately did not count 1.2 million unemployed people

Some of America’s allies are now breaking ties with America and taking more aggressive steps to better their own economies.

INDIA

The India government has been working on getting the Rupee to be better accepted in India and abroad.

India's Iran oil buy a slap on US face’
Last Updated: Monday, February 20, 2012, 11:49

Quote
Washington: India's decision to continue importing Iranian oil is a slap on the face of the United States, which is galvanising the international community to isolate Tehran, according to a former US diplomat who was Bush Administration's pointman on Indo-US civilian nuclear deal.

"This is bitterly disappointing news for those of us who have championed a close relationship with India. And, it represents a real setback in the attempt by the last three American presidents to establish a close and strategic partnership with successive Indian governments," former under secretary of state for political affairs Nicholas Burns wrote in an op-ed in current-affairs magazine 'The Diplomat' on Monday.

CANADA

Canada has also decided to look after its national interest first, and not America’s.

PM Stephen Harper was a no-show at China’s 2008 summer Olympics.  But, this year, Harper has done a firmer 180 degree turn regarding his foreign policy with China.  He continued to get more multibillion-dollar trade and business agreements with China.

China, Canada reach deals on oil, uranium and air travel

BEIJING — China and Canada declared Thursday that bilateral relations have reached "a new level" following a series of multibillion-dollar trade and business agreements to ship additional Canadian petroleum, uranium and other products to the Asian superpower.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Chinese leadership said Thursday their new energy and economic co-operation agreements — as well as billions of dollars of private-sector deals — signed by the two countries over the past few days are unprecedented and will only open the door to additional trade and investment.

Somewhere down the line, this will all contribute to the erosion of the USD as the world's reserve currency (got physical metals, yet?) and America’s economic superpower status.

Canada raising its world profile. Which (IMO) has been over shadowed somewhat by it's proximity to the USA, and  the UK connection.

What's with this new Executive Order from Obama titled NATIONAL DEFENSE RESOURCES PREPAREDNESS?

http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2012/03/16/executive-order-national-defense-resources-preparedness

Apparently, he signed this Friday night 3-16-12 with no public notice or Congressional discussion.  Having read it, it looks to me like he just seized power to procure private property, institute a draft and implement martial law.  It includes plans for the government to take 100% control of private resources, labor and assets including agriculture, health, transportation, water, food, energy and "all other materials, services and facilities."

Something's really not right with this and maybe everyone should be calling congressmen first thing Monday morning.  This order was just posted on the White House Web site and reading it gave me "that funny feeling" in the pit of my belly.

Read somewhere that according to Einstein's theory, you could run around a tree at 195,999 miles per second and eventually screw yourself.  Or..........  you could vote for this guy again.
