The solution is very simple actually.  I have thought about it for many years.

Just go back to the strict interpretation of the Constitution.

That would take almost all money and power out of the Congress and give it back to the states.

From there it is simply that moral men have to be responsible and take part in their governments or else lose them to men who love government to gain control over someone, something, etc.

The same is true is the smallest forms of government, towns and school boards.

So, dear Watson, we come down to what the founding fathers believed and that is that a republic could only be governed by a moral people.
