I have to admit I read George Ure's site http://urbansurvival.com/week.htm on a simi regular basis.  Outside the UFO's and other off the wall stuff he comes up with the guy get a pretty good grip on the markets most of the time.

Today's pages start with PROOP OF MERCY    Freddie Mac Suspends Evictions From December 20 to January 3, 2011 AND What Rally? Compared to What?

Both good reads.  Just though I would call your attention to it.  I frequently have compared the price of gold equated on the idea of how many ounces to buy the DOW as a slap back into reality.  Also compared the gold to home cost makes sense.

Anyway ditto on what George said on today's post. I guess if the Sheriff shows up with the eviction order on the 19th you can stay with someone who was scheduled on the 20th.  But I'm sure your hang over will not have run it's course by Jan 3.  This will get even uglier as we go into the new year me thinks.  Forget the reasons and other recriminations maybe it's time we all started to think "there but for the grace of God go I" and act accordingly.

McLean, VA – Freddie Mac (OTC: FMCC) today announced it has ordered all evictions involving foreclosed occupied single family and 2-4 unit properties that had Freddie Mac mortgages to be suspended from December 20, 2010 to January 3, 2011.

"If the property is occupied, our foreclosure attorneys will suspend the eviction to provide a greater measure of certainty to families during the holidays," said Anthony Renzi, Executive Vice President of Single Family Portfolio Management at Freddie Mac.

Freddie Mac was established by Congress in 1970 to provide liquidity, stability and affordability to the nation's residential mortgage markets. Freddie Mac supports communities across the nation by providing mortgage capital to lenders. Over the years, Freddie Mac has made home possible for one in six homebuyers and more than five million renters.

Just makes you wanna belt out "Silent Night" don't it?  No hangings on Memorial Day, too, notes a banker who reads...

Oops again. When I looked for December earlier I didn't see the thread that you'd already started.

Where's that Labrador gone?

BUT............

The great thing about this site is that it's nothing that can't be fixed....

Position limits both on the short and long side?

That could shoot my copper strategy in the foot (I thought of Hunt Bros.), but I'm sticking with it. ANTO is £14.36 and the averaging down I did to £12.90 seems to have worked (I wouldn't normally recommend or do averaging down).

Another excellent week. I'm in the money on every one of my holdings bar one TLR***.
ERII had a good week on the news of a Spanish desalination contract.

The DecemBRrrrr is for cold and I don’t like the cold. Warmer climes are beckoning.

Oopps in the interest of accuracy AGTA is also making me a loss (a small loss but a loss).

I wonder how the stock of the company that makes those airport screening devices is doing?  Wink

And what about those latex glove companies?  Just kidding!

Had not really thought too much about those TSA pat downs till now...

According to the article, this woman is wheelchair bound.

I cannot, personally, see why she is wheelchair bound but she's the best thing I have ever seen in a wheelchair!

There just has some medical or legal term for that.

China Outstrips Fed in Liquidity Surge Threatening Inflation Spike in 2011

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-12-06/china-outstrips-fed-in-liquidity-surge-threatening-inflation-spike-in-2011.html

Quote
The central bank continues to add liquidity, with money supply rising 19 percent in November from a year ago, according to the median estimate of 29 analysts in a Bloomberg News survey before a government release this month. That needs to be curbed to 15 percent to 16 percent to rein in inflation, said Fred Hu, the former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. chief China economist who has founded financial advisory firm Primavera Capital Group.

Just noticed the news and did not realize this is also a gold play though someone may have already written about that aspect.

When I first saw the title, I thought they were drilling but this does not seem to be the case. They mention grab samples which means next to nothing.

But I have never heard this term "channel" samples used before now.

Anyone here know what the difference is?

MAWSON CHANNELS 0.95 METRES @ 1,424 g/t GOLD AND 1.3 % URANIUM AND GRAB SAMPLES ASSAY UP TO 22,723 g/t GOLD AT ROMPAS IN FINLAND

Here we go again!

It's getting to where this is a monthly occurrence or more often.

They will stop at nothing to protect JP Morgan.

And JPM just bought 50% of the copper market on the LBMA.

I have not even had time to catch up on what has been written here in the last week...

SS is probably not talking to me.  He bought TLR after I posted about it.  Don't know if he placed any stops or not.

I have more to post on that later on.

Merry Christmas everybody!

Mewwey Chwistmas boys and goyls. Back from shopping in NYC...carrying the wifes coat and purse I should say...in NYC. I hope you all have had a good year...prosperous as it has been..with rare exception.

My call for early next is on NRG and gold primarily.....blah blah everyone knows why.

But on the the gold issue.......I don't care if GLD doesn't go up a nickel from here. What is important to me is that the producers are wayyyyyyyy underleveraged to the price of gold at this juncture. When earning start popping in the 1st Q od 11...we'll see some real action. Any vehicle will do....but I think for real upside the GDXJ and like instruments will be the place to be.

But........I have still been waiting to pull the trigger on the HNU....its as snowbound as HeathRow. Best wishes for the new year.......Punter .....OUT!!!

Hi YC
Of course I'm still talking to you. You get many more right than wrong.
My foray into TLR hardly dented my performance.
2010 has been one of my most profitable years ever.

Actually I did place a stop. Got out 1.10.
I didn't like all the selling I was witnessing. Some people must have got wind of this statement which came soon after...........

“likely timing for the receipt of the Hard Rock Operating Permit, which is necessary to commence production activities, has been delayed from Q3 2011 to Q4 2011. As such, the commencement of commercial gold production, previously expected in Q3/Q4 2011, is now targeted during late Q4 2011 to early Q1 2012. Mining of a 10,000 ton bulk sample authorized by the current exploration permit is expected to be completed during Q3 2011.”

AND

“Timberline has also been advised that development costs for the mine at Butte Highlands, which are funded to production entirely by Highland, may now approach $24 million, as compared to the $17 million previously reported.”

I'm still keeping my eye on it though.
Even this good news yesterday had little impact on the SP.

“Timberline Drills 12.1 g/t Gold Over 17.7 Metres at Lookout Mountain

2010-12-22 08:45 ET”

I would have expected fireworks. Perhaps everyone's gone asleep.

Portfolio update. Sold half of my SXX. Aprox 281% profit and I still have half (Bought at 4 sold at 8.5. Bought back again at 6, sold half at 16.5).
A few birdies were telling me to watch “Diamonds.”  Increasing demand and short supply. I've taken a small position in FDI....

http://www.firestonediamonds.com/

The top tip for the sector seems to be RDI.
http://www.rockwelldiamonds.com/rcw/Home.asp

The best in the sector tip was RDI, but I've seen a few others showing more life at this point in time.
I'll keep an eye on RDI  but FDI has had a few days of above average volume and it's easier for me to deal in.

I'm sure that you've all suspected it for sometime but Sunseeker has officially gone bananas.

http://www.fyffes.com/

Above average volumes.

Many thanks to JDH for running this site so well and for bringing this “A Team” together.

A very Happy Christmas to you all.

This popular escapist (er ... or is it reality?), entertaining, movie about banksters, and main street people is played very year in Canada over the holidays.
