Since you were talking about it here is a current BZG chart. Looking at the bottom two windows where I have higlighted Could one determine where to short this? The opposite is true going the other way but it's apparent the thing is in a down trend why fight city hall. When the trend changes simply go the other way. The FAZ chart is an identical twin to this BTW. Notice once it goes through those Bollinger Bands there sits the 50 SMA. It cant deal with it on the first attempt to penetrate the 50. There is a high probability that it will make another attempt at the 50. Should it fail it is likely to come down and test the previous low. Any stock running below the 20 and the 50 is in a down trend ... end of story.

You can notice the sharp breaks on the yellow line on the study named Soap. What happens to the price just after the sharp break? Then notice the Blue line on the CCI study. That is the CCI 50 the longer term study of the three. The yellow line is 20 period and the white is the shorter 5 period CCI. The low numbers are the fast ones and the high numbers are the slow ones.
The Soap is simply two Stochs showing only the SK part its an 8 and a 5 SK only.
In the CCI window when the blue 50 line is below -100 the price is in a strong down trend (for this study) above the 100 it is trending up. Notice the rectangle shaded area. What was price doing during this time? Also notice the sharp breaks on the short term lines on both studies and line up Wednesday AM you can see how the stoch broke first and confirmed by the CCI very shortly afterward.

I Feel bad getting into "Thread drift" on this other page. Many here are not interested in technical studies and understaning that and to prevent boring them we can discuss the subject here. So in the spirit of fairness Let's put most of the T/A stuff On a seperate page and spare those not interested the grief.. I have started another Thread call Techinical Analysis Page.

Looks like gold is in a down swing along with silver.
Looks to me gold resistance will be 848 and silver will be 11.10 going off the 6 month chart.
Platinum and Pallidium are still in an upward momentum.
Who said buy Platinum? Great call.

These crooks need to get everything they have coming to them. But the powers that be always help cover up these actions because it would all be an embarrasment to the top floor. Something of this magnitude that has had such an effect on so many lives needs justice.

Sidewinder,
That article goes to show that our Congress has the smoke and mirror trick down pat with the assistance of the major media helping, at least most of them.
With a few bigs words that the public doesn't understand (like Hocus Pocus), a little slite of hand and 2 trillion dollars, presto changeO, problem fixed. lol
JDH,
Give me part credit also on the DOW, I said 8000 too. Don't take all the glory. lol
I also said Obama's stimulas would hit 1 trillion.
Now if the Mortgage rates hit 4% and the Celtics take the NBA Championship. I am breaking out my crystal ball and working the Circus!!!

changing tactics a bit today and going into EDZ - Emerging Markets 3X Bear, rather than TZA. Picked up some in pre-market.
I figure if a sell off blows out, these guys will get hit as hard, if not harder, than US. Both ETFs have come down some 65% from recent highs, but EDZ is more UTR, which i like...

Lets see, what did I read today on Reuters.
1. Nouriel Roubine, who was the first to sound the early waring signs about housing bubbles and credit crises, expects more bad data coming out. Which means more bad news for the Market and economy.
2. Mortgage Dellinquencies soar, 7% of mortgages were 30 days late in February, an increase of 50% from a year earlier. 39% of subprime borrowers were 30 days behind, up 23% from last year.
3. Banks closed 8 million credit card accounts in February. Bank Card delinquency at the highest in 5 years. 4.5% are 60 days past due, 32% increase from a year earlier.
4. Life insurers will be getting TARP bailout money. Industry #3 getting Gov't help.
So this will be a short rally. Enjoy it while it lasts.
On the bright side, the young Star Trek crew boldly walked the red carpet for the new Star Trek movie opening. Maybe Spock can figure out how to fix the economy.
As Burt Ives sings in Rudolph the red nose reindeer. Silver and Gold, Silver and Gold........Did I get that right? Either way, I am taking the Gold more then Silver.

nice morning cup of coffee there, Croaker
I am feeling light in the trigger in the next day or so... not much in the way of earnings on Wednesday or Thursday, so I wouldn't be surprised to see some surprise upside in the next day or two on the S&P.
Oil is taking it on the chin though the past couple days. We'll see...
Life insurance companies have a LOT of room to move up if they get some positive news... LNC, CNO, HIG seem to be some of the more hotly traded companies in that sector. Trade with caution, though... DYODD b/c we're talking 10-25% up or down per day on those recently...
I'm quiet in pre-merket today... staying away from the 3X etfs tomorrow... just wait and see mode...
