I really didn't know where to put this.  Congressman Hank Johnson thinks Guam may capsize or "tip over" if we allow an additional 8,000 Marines and their families be assigned there.

You can't make this up.

I noticed that this news clip was broadcasted on April 1, 2010.  Let’s hope Congressman Hank Johnson was playing an April fools’ day joke on Adm. Robert Willard, head of the U.S. Pacific fleet. Grin

Nope, he was dead ass serious. Think the man has hepatitis and it could be the drugs.  Nonetheless he occupies a seat in Congress.

See, SW, if Johnson can get in there even you could make a run for it.  Wink

You can have it.  Already already been there done that on a smaller scale.  Actually I enjoyed getting others to go my way and developed pretty good second sense in getting my way.  went in as a one trick pony and quickly realized you have to take care of all the issues and build trust and allies.

First rule reward your friends and punish your enemies but always take care of your people.  Know Roberts Rules backward and forward.  Drink hard but stay sober and remember everything anyone tells you. (Advice from Sun Tzu)

I was burned out in one term, though I expect Congress would be a cakewalk.  Then there is the problem that the job just don't pay enough and who in their right mind would want a seat on the bridge of a sinking ship. Smiley

I think I mentioned before I spent a lot of time observing both houses.  This was on my own, partly because I did entertain someday becoming involved.  After what I observed I figured it would be easy but would not want to be involved in such an insane operation or involved with some of the people.  Don't get me wrong there are some quality, patriots serving but they cannot prevail in the system as it is.  There are plenty of Hank Johnson's in DC they just have better handlers and lay low enjoying the perks.  The rest are busy raising money for the next campaign and just don't have time to do the people's work.  Staff generally tell them what to do and some screw that up.

Then there is the issue of choosing sides (a party).  Both embrace issues I agree with, but both major parties are inconsistent and will sell out in a nano-second.  Any independent fights an uphill battle.

Think about this Johnson guy for a second.  If his meds and disease have put him at such a mental disadvantage as to think Guam may "tip over", who is representing the people of his district.  Without question his staff calls all the shots (as many others who only suffer from stupidity).  So now you have a situation of someone who is not elected actually representing the people of that district.  Guess that's not a problem because we all roll over on this Czar business.

Sorry I got started again but this shit pisses me off and frankly I have taken a position of "Non-Participation".  That is I no longer contribute anything more than legally required and will take anything I can from the system.  This actually requires more sacrifice for your country than one might think.  I put nothing into the economy other than what I need to survive.  I actively look for ways to not use any services that have a cost.  I only do what is in my self-interest and teach this principle to my offspring.   Call it what you will but I am truly feed up.  I have met every commitment my country has required of me and then some.  If it is going to hell in a hand basket, I will simply be an observer and the only efforts I will make will be to protect what's mine and other principled individuals.

I encourage everyone I can influence to do the same but you must be intelligent about it.  In other words this is my own WOE program (Withdrawal Of Enthusiasm)  I would like to see everyone in America just not show up at work one Monday morning.  And then every Monday for a while before adding Tuesday to the mix.  No rally, no tea party, no disturbance just stay home with your family. But it would take this government 6 months to a year to realize what's going on.

OK enough of this got a roast coming out of the crock pot.

I can't be bothered with all this stuff I'm off to Penrith to stand around on the platform

Sunseeker started it.  Don't think Maggie was responsible for the warning.

Damn, didn't mean to touch off a nerve!

You are exactly right, most will sellout in a nanosecond.

I spent part of last week analyzing donations to a nearby Congressman and it was absolutely amazing what I found.

Here's a couple of Nevada candidates:

http://www.opensecrets.org/races/summary.php?id=NV01&cycle=2008

http://www.opensecrets.org/races/contrib.php?cycle=2008&id=NV03

Then if you want to get really down and dirty:

Not sure if that query will work but you can find out anything at:

Yea Titus spent 1.7 mil on a job that will pay back $696,000 for 4 years. Of course it was OP money so she is beholding to those.  Best representation money can buy.  There simply has to be a better way.

Thanks for the link I put that running cost of election 2010 on my blog.  LOL don't know how to make it fit properly but only been in the blog world a month and i may get bored with it soon anyway.

Sell out, scare out, trick out, seen it all.  Actually it must be fun for the sharper individuals to put the dumber ones on the spot, it's child's play.

As a veteran Dina sent me a letter telling me how she is working for and has visited our new veterans facility.  she just got elected but you would think she played a part in getting it built.  Well at least she initiated contact with me.

Pinky and John Ensign got some mail from me recently.  Ensign has not responded and likely won't.  Got a standard letter from Reid which skirted the issue I wrote about (Ron Paul's bill) so I wrote back and asked for a more precise answer to the question "how do you plan to vote on the issue?" In the letter I wished his wife and daughter well after their accident.  Got a thank you note for the Well Wishes and no mention of the original question.   I will hear nothing further I'm sure.

Titus' job only lasts for 2 years but who's counting?  She's up again this November...

I have an idea about how to use the donation money.  Am going to do the same thing around here.  All you have to do is publish some donors, like banks, retail, and other common institutions that everyday people use.

Then people catch on to the idea that if they go to this bank or that department store that those businesses support the Democrats or the Republicans (some even support both) and start a feud with the little people mad about seeing their money they thought was well spent going to support candidates they are opposed to...  Write a few letters to the editor of the papers.  Call in to talk radio.

Pretty soon you have a lot of traffic to your blog...

The Chinese keep plugging away.  All Hell will break loose before long...

China is seeking greater use of its currency to reduce reliance on the U.S. dollar after Premier Wen Jiabao said last month he is “worried” about holdings of assets denominated in the greenback. From July, the government started allowing companies in Shanghai and four cities in the southern province of Guangdong to use yuan in cross-border trade with Hong Kong, Macau and members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

What we have all been waiting for is upon us and hundreds possibly thousands of municipalities and counties are really really really in the red.

Just wait till we see all the institutional investors calling in their loans when there is the run on the bank!

http://www.economicpolicyjournal.com/2010/04/senior-sec-employee-warns-of-potential.html

http://rick.bookstaber.com/2010/04/municipal-market.html

Quote
Well, guess where we have a market that is (1) leveraged and opaque, that is (2) very big and tied to the credit markets; and is (3) viewed by investors as being diversifiable by holding a geographically broad-based portfolio; with (4) huge portfolios where assets and liabilities are apparently matched; and with (5) questionable analysis by rating agencies; and where (6) there are many entities, entities that may not approach default with business-like dispatch, and that have already mortgaged sources of revenue that are thought to support their liabilities?

Answer: The municipal market.

Regarding MEDUSA MINING LTD (THE CO.)   (TSE:MLL)

Today it went from 4.1 to a high of 4.5!

Here’s some news about it:

http://www.foxbusiness.com/story/markets/industries/industrials/medusa-mining-limited-aim-cancellation--admission-official-list/

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/medusa-mining-limited-quarterly-activities-report-period-ended-31-march-2010-2010-04-14?reflink=MW_news_stmp

http://www.foxbusiness.com/story/markets/industries/industrials/medusa-mining-limited-o-drilling-update/

I didn’t get any MLL, but I would like to learn why MLL jumped up so high in one day.  Anyone?

Point of note
I did make a post a post regarding your reference to Brown’s bottom. I must have gone a bit  too far because it’s gone.  Lips Sealed

Do note that I did catch your post on Brown’s bottom.

And I do not think that you went too far with your comment on Brown's bottom.  There are many others who have given Gordon Brown unflattering nicknames.  He must have a very thick outer shell to be Britain's Prime Minister.

See:   http://lightwater.wordpress.com/2008/04/27/gordon-brown-tops-the-list-of-prime-ministerial-nicknames/

I think by now, Brits must be reminiscing for the days when their leaders were given good nicknames.

Like “The British Bulldog” for Winston Churchill.  “The Iron Lady” for Margaret Thatcher.

Thanks for the education on why MLL went up so quickly.

Another poster predicts because of MLL's move into the main markets, it will go up to $8 cdn.  Still, I am not going to invest in it because I am new to mining stocks.  I rather place my money in JDH’s gold or silver blue chip stocks – e.g. Kinross, Goldcorp.

But, I will be keeping an eye on it to see what happens to a stock that moves from the AIM to the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange.

And thanks for the link to http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/  It is indeed a very comprehensive site for investors who wants to invest at home or abroad.   Cheesy
