The Health Care "CRISIS" - Does it really exist? How do we fix it?

I had my operation earlier on in the year. I didn’t only feel as good as new after about six weeks I was feeling BETTER THAN NEW (and still do).

All the same thank you for your concern.

I ventured onto another forum to express a few points of view. I received a very good response and a couple of the ladies even referred to me as an “investment god.” Don’t laugh. If they thought that of me then they would be very impressed with this bunch.
Who am I to argue?
So here I am back at what must now be considered as the “Mount Olympus” of investment forums.

Spent lots of time in Saigon RVN or as some now refer as HCMC, socialist peoples something or the other.  Anyway one of my golfing budies there, and Expat needed a cataract operation.  He got the procedure done with latest laser equipment by Dr. trained in France for the outragous total bill of $300 US.  Another Guy got a first class crown replacement for $80. 

These are not made up numbers they are the figures given me by the individuals themselves during casual conversation within days of undergoing the medical work. 

My wife just had the same cataract procedure and the bill is just under $10,000 US for both eyes.  something just ain't right here.

Certainly nothing is beyond belief today and some of this would be funny if not for the fact that one can see it happening

Unfortunately I cannot view the video because the speakers on my laptop are on the blink.

The dang computer store wants me to leave it with them for two days and I cannot be without it for that long.

If any of you technical experts have any ideas to check PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP.

PS  I never get a flu shot.  The best way to beat the fly is natural health, eat lots of raw garlic, onions, hot peppers, and raw vegetables...

Dear Mr. President,

Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy.  Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan. You can call it the "Patriotic Retirement Plan":


There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force.  Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:

1) They MUST retire.  Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed...

2) They MUST buy a new American CAR.  Forty million cars ordered – Auto Industry fixed.

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage – Housing Crisis fixed.

It can't get any easier than that!!


P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in Congress pay their taxes...

Mr. President, while you're at it, make Congress retire on Social Security and Medicare. I'll bet both programs would be fixed pronto!

You Know when you think about it there are about 300 million Americans.  Just give each $1 million each and tell 'em all to just buy some insurance and be done with it.  Still damn sight cheaper

Sidew, one more thing. They must all leave the US at 65 to live in Vietnam Canada or France to get them off the books.

Look what hiding the facts on unemployment just did for the unemployment numbers.

Bottom line, just make all the problem files 'disappear'.

BTW, I was living in Thailand a few years back and could walk into a hospital and see a US trained specialist or dentist with no appointment and be attended to withing twenty minutes tops. I never spent over a couple of hundred on anything. I had a 'double root canal ' one time and that was something like $80 dollars per tooth and I swear it was the best work I have ever had done.

Spent lots of time in Thailand and Viet Nam Punter.  I tell people about the Thai system and they don't believe it.  'course the way they crash cars and dump motocys they need a good doctor close by.  I would not hesitate going to a Thai hospital for treatment.  LOL all one has to do is look at the Lady Boy (Kathoey) population.  Any medical system that can take a ugly Thai dude and change him into a stunning babe cant be all bad.   

Just looking at the BLS Birth/Death estimates model and every month this year except Jan Jobs have been "Estimated"  into existence through that model to the tune of just over 1.1 million jobs.  I guess that model works as well as the experts on global warming.  The Sidewinder model says it smells more like real un-employment likely North of 17% and after the holidays another round of cuts Q1 2010.
